崇宁重宝，北宋徽宗崇宁年间铸（公元1102年~1106年），币质有铜、铁、银。崇宁重宝为隶书铜、铁大钱，制作多亦精好，还有崇宁重宝钱文为徽宗御书瘦金体，铁划银钩，深具骨秀格清之气韵，书法超妙绝伦，可谓币文楷书之极峰，惹得很多古钱币保藏者爱不忍释。

ChongningChongbaowasmintedintheChongningperiodofHuizongintheNorthernSongDynasty(1102-1106A.D.).Itscurrencywasmadeofcopper,ironandsilver.ChongningChongbaoisalargecopperandironcoininLiscript,whichiswell-made,andChongningChongbaoQianwenisathingoldbodyinHuizongimperialscript,withsilverhooks,andhasadeepcharmofboneandclearstyle.Itssuperbcalligraphycanberegardedasthepeakofregularscriptincoinscript,whichmakesmanycollectorsofancientcoinsreluctanttoletgo.

整个钱体厚重，青铜质，锈色古旧，书法娟秀骨瘦，铁划银钩，飘逸劲挺，与被公认的各谱均载的大字“崇宁重宝”完全符合。字体结构疏朗，笔划尖锐，骨秀格清，极具赏识保藏含义。

公元1100年1月，北宋皇帝哲宗病故，由其弟赵佶顶替做了北宋第八任皇帝，为宋徽宗。徽宗“性甚机巧，优于技艺”，整天沉迷于书法绘画，不睬朝纲。他在位25年，先后铸造了圣宋通宝、崇宁通宝（重宝）、大观通宝、政和通宝（重宝）、重和通宝、宣和通宝（元宝）等6种钱币，其间崇宁通宝和大观通宝的钱文是徽宗御笔亲书的瘦金体。令人叫绝的是折十型瘦金书体的崇宁通宝，青铜精制，文字骨秀格清，令人爱不释手。
